In a statement posted to Instagram, ITV addressed three of their landmark shows having to cancel their live coverage today.

The channel abruptly pulled all three TV shows from the schedule at the last minute this morning, despite the trio being amongst the most popular on ITV’s slate.

The shows released a joint statement announcing the power cut would mean they would be taken out ITV’s schedule (ITV)

Lorraine posted a video on Instagram from her car addressing the change, explaining: “Hello there. I’m on my way to work but there’s been a little bit of a hoohah. There’s a power outage at the studio, so my show won’t be on today, but you can still watch GMB.

“They are going to fix it around 11 o’clock-ish, so This Morning will still be on as well, just a little bit later.”

She continued, expressing regret that she wouldn’t get to speak to her planned guest saying: “It’s a bit of a shame. I was really looking forward to Sharleen Spiteri from Texas, but we shall reschedule, and it’ll all be fine. I will see you tomorrow!”

Spiteri was on the show to promote Texas’ 30th anniversary of their hit album White On Blonde.

This Morning had already announced the guests for their show, which will be replaced with a ‘best bits’ episode. The episode had been set to feature comedian Jo Brand, Tilly Ramsay, and the ‘Queen of Soaps’ Sharon Marshall.

Brand is promoting a new book, whilst Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Tilly is a regular feature on This Morning hosting cooking segments.

Loose Women had announced they were set to discuss whether ‘giving cash is a lazy gift’ in a poll on their Instagram story, and have been replaced by a best of episode of Tipping Point.

One fan commented on Lorraine’s Instagram video to share her support, saying: “See you tomorrow Lorraine. Thanks for your amazing shows. Still wish you were on for the full hour.”

Another said: “That’s my morning routine upset. I so look forward to your show and soo miss it when you’re not on.”

This isn’t the first time ITV have pulled episodes from the schedule in recent times – just last month, The Chase had some episodes pulled unexpectedly, as well as Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening, the 1% Club, and Deal or No Deal.

While reshuffling the TV schedule isn’t usually out of the ordinary, fans were quick to notice that several upcoming already filmed episodes of TV were not aired at all.

ITV responded to LADbible with a statement in which they seemed to claim this was standard practice, saying: “ITV’s schedules are confirmed and billed two weeks in advance of broadcast.

“Until this point all scheduling is subject to change.”
