Grandma, 91, was stunned after she got her late husband’s Valentine’s Day gift: ‘He already…’

This adorable elderly couple first fell in love with each other at St. Louis back in the 1950s and their love stood the test of time.

Just one week after she lost her beloved husband, a 91-year-old woman came across an unexpected gift that he left for her. It served as a reminder that true love never fades, even after death. In February this year, Emily Faron said a final goodbye to her husband Roy after seven decades of their marriage. However, just a few days later, her late husband’s love came back to her. In a viral TikTok video shared by their granddaughter Jacqueline (@jacquelinefaron), Faron is seen receiving a bouquet of Valentine’s Day flowers, which were arranged by Roy before he passed away.

As reported by People Magazine, Jacqueline spoke of the surprise and said, “I had sent a group text to my cousins saying we should get flowers for Valentine’s Day, and my oldest cousin had texted in the group chat saying he talked to grandpa before he passed, and he already had arranged flowers to come for her.” Along with the flowers, Faron also received a card that read, “Emily, I love you forever. Roy.” Jacqueline shared that her grandparents first met and fell in love in St. Louis back in the 1950s.

Roy ran a service station there, and young Faron used to stop by often. One of her friends who worked there asked Roy if he wanted to be set up with her. He quickly agreed to it. Jacqueline revealed, “Their first date was New Year’s Eve going into the year of 1951.” Their relationship became stronger after that day. They married on May 31, 1954, raised three courageous children, and built a life full of love. Even after decades together, their love remained the same. The granddaughter shared that Faron and Roy rarely argued. As Roy’s health got worse, Faron stayed by his side and cared for him as much as possible.

Social media users also shared their reaction to the video in the comment section, as one TikTok user, @lochness_knots, commented, “Stop your grandma seems like the sweetest soul, and obviously your grandpa was too. That’s true love right there.” Another person, @samantharae435, wrote, “The moment she read it, she didn’t expect any less, but she realized how much she loved and missed him all at the same time.” Similarly, @adonisacres chimed in and said, “Your grandpa was an amazing man! I can’t imagine the feelings she felt today with so much she’s dealing with!”

Several others shared similar stories they came across during their lifetime. Meanwhile, Jacqueline also revealed that in her grandfather’s final days, her grandmother was still by his side, constantly helping him with sponge baths and doing whatever he needed. Roy also never stopped believing in their bond and gave one advice to everyone. He said, “Stay married, no matter what, just stay married.” When Roy passed away, about 20 cardinal birds showed up around the house. Since cardinals are believed to be a sign of family, it felt like a special moment. After sharing the video, Jacqueline said she’s thankful for all the kind messages she has been receiving after posting the video.
